Aside from the slightly failed attempt to keep a blog in college, I'm new to this blog process/set up/etc. so bare with me until I get things figured out!
This first post is to tell you all about how my life changed. Already.
I've been given the opportunity to start something great, to begin a new and exciting adventure. So, with that I'm opening the next chapter in my life. Right now I'll call it the Peace Corps, but I'm fairly certain it's going to turn into something much more than just volunteering. This experience will shape who I am and so I can dive headfirst into the rest of my life. Soon, I will be living an adventure.
What I'll actually be doing: I will be a Coastal Resource Management (CRM) Volunteer for the Peace Corps. The details on what EXACTLY I'll be doing have yet to exist so hang tight, I assure I'm more anxious to know than you are.
Where I will be going: My country of assignment is the Philippines. Where in the Philippines is also a mystery, and will remain that way until the middle of September.
When I am leaving: I will depart from MN July 5th for staging in Cali. A day or so after, I will exhaust my wings but land safely in Manila by July 8th or so. From then on, its intense Pre-Service Training (PST, because the PC loves acronyms) for three months.
How long will I be there: And after training, we are assigned to our region and spend the following two years serving with our community, unless I choose to extend my service. My 27 month service will end in September, 2015, so please refrain from doing anything super important until after that time. Thanks!

Yep, this is my blog. Use it to track me over the next couple of years of my life so that, while I'm half-way across the world, you can stay a part of it.
